In July 2023 Maluti Bus Service embarked on a special Mandela Day initiative that extended an invitation to all employees to nominate individuals and organisations within their communities who could benefit from the support and assistance of Maluti Bus Service. The scope of assistance was left open, subject to review and approval.
Employees enthusiastically submitted their nominations, highlighting individuals and organisations they believed were in need. After careful evaluation, three families were identified as the most deserving of support. These families were graciously provided with essential supplies, including food parcels and winter blankets. The Maluti Bus Trust, also known as the Community Trust, was approached to sponsor this charitable endeavour, and we express our sincere gratitude for their support.
To make this initiative even more meaningful, the selected families were invited to the depot, where Maluti Bus Service employees, who had been part of the selection process, joined in a heartwarming gift-giving ceremony. After the ceremony, the families were transported back to their homes in Maluti Bus vehicles.
Looking ahead, we aspire to undertake projects that leave a lasting, positive impact on families and organizations within our operational areas, creating a more enduring and sustainable effect on the communities we serve.
